"Here’s a review for people who are looking to rent a place in Portugal, rather than buy. I worked with Pearls of Portugal in September of 2025, when I was looking for an apartment in Coimbra as part of a visa application. They are easy to contact via email and WhatsApp. After you arrive in Portugal for apartment-hunting, they set you up with an account on their online dashboard, which shows you prospective properties that fall within a criteria you set, and you can yes or no them after you review the various listings. For the listings you choose, Pearls of Portugal takes care of setting up appointments with the respective property managers, and tells you where and when you need to be to tour them in-person. For the listings I chose, it was easy to walk or Uber to them from where I was staying. Where Pearls of Portugal really excelled for me was their advocacy for me as a renter after I chose a place. Their attorney thoroughly reviewed the lease, found stipulations in the lease that had legal issues, and followed up with the property manager to get those corrected. The value of this assistance cannot be understated; Put it this way, unless you are a licensed attorney in Portugal who knows Portuguese property law, you will need this service. Once the details were settled, Pearls of Portugal facilitated the signing of the lease online, and took care of registering the lease with Portugal Ministry of Finance, which is also needed for a visa application. Overall, I had a great experience with Pearls of Portugal and would happily work with them again."
