"This has been the worst rental experience I’ve had after years of living in Porto. 1.Before moving in, I was clearly told that the electricity and water were already connected. This turned out to be false — the apartment had no water or electricity for the first 3 days. 2.When I tried to contact them multiple times regarding leaving the property two months earlier and to get in touch with the landlord, they completely ignored my calls and messages. Very unprofessional and unreliable. This was my first negative rental experience in Porto."
Good morning. We have read your comment and will, of course, endeavour to set the record straight by demonstrating the inaccuracy of your comment, as we were in no way an obstacle or a factor limiting the owner’s access to the property. Indeed, you signed the contract more than a month before moving in, and in that context, we arranged for the electricity and water to be connected when you informed us of your arrival. In doing so, we demonstrated that we were professional and competent, as we went out of our way to arrange the services, which was not our responsibility. If the connections were not made in good time, it is not our fault; you should have complained to the relevant authorities, something which, at the time, you even accepted, yet now you are doing the opposite by criticising our work. As for leaving the flat early, as you were informed, it is not up to us, the estate agency, to grant your request; you must do so in writing, in this case to the owner, as was explained in our reply to your email in which you set out your intentions. We are estate agents, not a service provider; the tenant has rights and obligations, which, in our case, cease upon signing the contract. Our company has always gone far beyond what is set out above, and the reward is your message, which greatly displeases and disappoints us as it is extremely unfair. However, we remain at your disposal for whatever you deem appropriate.
